Hi All,

I'm having some strange Issues with 4 X DM500 (not genuine) sat rcv's and a Labgear MS516 (not enhanced) multiswitch.
I have SKY+ in lounge, multiroom receiver in office they both work fine all channels, the DM500's all have the same issue,
I cannot get any Horizontal High or Verticle High Channels, at first I thought it was low signal but this was disproven when a satellite engineer put some professional kit on the output.
The only thing we could find was the 22khz tone voltage from the dream box was just over 1volt, this should be .6v so we made the resistor adjustment and still the same no change.
Has anybody come across any simlar issues and if so what is it and how can I rectify the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Pete

Clone 500's are notorious for having poor power supplies in them, and this can cause all sorts of interesting problems with systems...

Hi,
I have tried all the dream boxes on a quad LNB and dish, they work fine.
I have also tried a genuine DM500 HD on my setup and that works fine.
I will have a look at the power supplies and see I can find any issues.

thanks for your prompt reply.

That seems to indicate the 500's dont like the switch.

Any idea why?
or any idea what switch they would be happy with?

Trial and error Im afraid - its just one of those things.. What you may find on the clone boxes is that the power supply is "electrically noisy" If you have an oscilloscope its worth sticking the output voltage onto it and see if its so.

Ive got a couple of lnb's that just dont work properly with one receiver

I have just put a 12v 7ah fully charged battery on to the dream box and its made no difference, so I guess it rules the power supply out.
I thought I'd cracked it with the 22khz input voltage but oh well back to the drawing board.

Not if its noisy and putting all sorts of spurious electronic crap into the cables.

Thanks, I dissed the AC supply and put the dm500 directly to the battery but problem still there.
I will get my bench supply on it in a minute and will try that, but running out of ideas.
the s/n ratio keeps bouncing from 87% down to 71% as if the agc is trying to pull the signal in but cant do it then tries again.
