DM500s tuner replacment help

Hello,
I have an 500s dreambox which the tuner probably got busted from probably static.

Well I found a site which sells among other stuff tuner for 500s.

My problem is if I buy this will I be able to change it myself?

Is it PnP or soldered.

It is soldered. I replaced the tuner in one dm500s with the tuner from a dm7025 PnP dvb-s tuner board. I cut the legs of the broken tuner and de-soldered the legs one by one from the pcb. I used a hot air gun to desolder the new tuner from the pnp tuner board.
DM500s model has been fitted with several different tuners. Make shure you get the right replacement tuner.

Hi,

becareful , because the tracks are very small. When I unmount a tuner, I use a special tool ,with pump and if the tuner is broken
I prefer cutting the legs one by one like J700
