Hi all I am calling a big favour from any DM7025 owners that would kindly do me a favour, or anyone that may know.

Ok I need some kind individual with a DM7025 to whip the top off of it and please get the the colors from R8 on the power supply board, R8 is located bellow the large heatsink that sits in front of the large 150uF 400V capacitor, you will see a long resistor under that heatsink with another not so long resistor right next to it this is R8 all I need is the exact band colours from that resistor.

That resistor has blown on mine, In fact it was glowing like an electric fire, so I think the bands have lost colour as they apear to be "Black Black Orange Black" but those colours add to nothing on most colour calculators so I am stuck without knowing the resistors exact banding colours.

I thank anyone in advance that can help me on this one, I emailed dream multimedia but as usual they never answer emails so I have no alternative but to ask some kind person to check thers for me.

I can't help with the Resistor value, but there must be a reason for failure and it could be effect rather than cause.

As Tivu said look for the effect rather than the cause...having a resistor glowing in that manner shows the amount of current passing through it....check its immediate circuitry...

Especially large capacitors or voltage regulators

Why dont people just answer a members question instead of asuming all members are thick. I already knew the cause of the problem and all electrolitic capactiors where already replaced by me only two months ago.

I did not come here asking what is the cause I asked WHAT VALUE IT WAS, I have fixed this now so no longer require your sarcastic silly answeres

I think the regulars are only trying to help on this occasion. It was however a long shot you'd of found a member with a DM7025 willing to dismantle their machine to give you your answer. In anycase, please refrain from using this tone with other members.

We are however, glad to hear you have fixed the problem.

Not sure how we could have guessed what other steps had already been taken.

It's often the case that an apparently simple question has far more to it - you might just have politely mentioned the other things you'd done instead of making untoward remarks.
