DM800HDse new user stuck - help needed

I am a real beginner at this so really need help please.

I have a motorised ***** DISEqC 1.2 dish fitted connected to my DM800HDse. I have installed the EDG-Nemesis image but have no idea what to do now.

The Dreambox is connected directly to my wireless router and passes all the connection tests but I get error messages saying the network isn't working if I try to check for an update. Why?

All I seem to get are 6 Moroccan channels off Hotbird which is 13 East I think. I want to get Turksat 42 East, and the Sky Astra 2 at 28.2 East, plus would like to get anything else out there.

How do I get the dish to point at other satellites?
How do I know the dish is pointing in the right direction?
Is the EDG-Nemesis image the best to use or is there a better one that would make my life easier?
Do I have to somehow install info on the satellites I want in the Dreambox? How?

Any help appreciated
 
Well the first questions that need asking are

"Has the dish been been set up properly (by someone who knows what they are doing) or is a self install?"

If its a self install has it ever worked (eg with another receiver)?
 
Installed and fitted by a professional satellite fitter and pointed at Hotbird. Tested reception with his meter and made sure motor on dish works.

He had no idea of Dreambox so now it's up to me...... help......
 
Have you loaded up a sat/channel list?Have you scanned any sats for channels?Have you tried restarting your network on the DM?

Here are some programs your going to need:
DCC or Dream Control Centre used for ftp'ing and other things in to the box etc
DBEdit for editing channel lists etc and sending them to the box
