Do men really have a 'mid life crisis'?.....

How could I possibly forget about The Who. Pete Townshend, who is an amazing guitarist (among many other things) Used to have his solo LP on vinyl, 'All The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes'.........can't believe I missed them.......I won't get fooled again!

Do you remember that in my first post, I mentioned Simon McBride, who demos and plays PRS guitars? Here's an (amateur) video of him playing a Hendrix number, 'Little Wing'.

Went to see King Crimson in Manchester 1973 I think, couldn't hear diddly squat for a week

Yes, the vocals are way down, but I think it was only recorded via the camera mic. Surprisingly there aren't that many 'pro' videos of him on the 'tube'. He has recorded a couple of albums as well. I think the concert was held at some sort of musical instrument expo (hence the Peavey banner at the back of the stage)

you guys are giving me a nostalgia overload -- l.o.l.

born in 1950 - lived in manchester from 1969 until the early eighties -
spent a great deal of my earnings on records and seeing live bands that i,d heard on john peel -
through all that period and beyond - so much music to enjoy - then - and - now .

After purchasing my PRS guitar, I joined a forum specifically for this make. It's USA based and it seems mid life crisis manifests itself very readily amongst our american cousins. (At least those with a musical disposition) It's termed GAS (gear aquisition syndrome), but I guess could equally be applied to any equipment based hobby. There are people on there with multiple guitars and amps (either with understanding partners or living on their own LOL) who may of course be collectors or gigging musicians.

Anyway, to further enjoy my Winter hobby (I'm getting too old to fiddle about with dishes in the cold) my stepdaughter donated some money towards a 20 watt Fender Mustang practice amp. It's loud enough to play gigs in small halls or clubs and produces feedback and distortion that sends the dogs under the table looking for earplugs.....actually that might be my playing..........
