Hi,
thinking about getting another dish.. just wondering if i were to install it myself could i align it using one of these?

Anyway, the best compass tool is probably Dishpointer (Linked from this very Forum) which will give you a nice graphical/pictorial view of where to site your dish (clear of obstructions) and where to point it.

so i could actually properly align a dish using one of these?

I wouldn't bother >> Simple Compasses are grossly affected by the presence of metal ....................

So, as stated, use Dishpointer as your "Compass".

For homing in, you'd be better off with a cheap Needle Meter (Without an integral Compass)
