Hello!!!!

I want to buy this dreambox and i like to know how it works..
A mean do i need to susbcribe to some atellite program and pay monthly? Or buy a card or something??

Does it need to got connected trought a satellite dish?? Or just internet? Thank you

It is a very old design of digital satellite stb that requires a dish, lnb and cable between the two in order to operate at all. The internet requirement is optional as the stb in its basic form with the above mentioned items will receive free to air channels without the need of anything further. It is not however a beginners stb. What channels are you wanting to watch as most encryptions are now secure. The stb is capable of card sharing however again considerable knowledge is required, so I suggest you read the information in the dreambox section of the forum
 
Dont forget to mention that the DM500 has not been manufactured in a while so any "new" boxes will be a clone so best avoided as support is limited.
 
It has a smartcard reader which is very useful to open channels if and when you decide to buy a package subscription (adult, Nova, Showtime, BBC Prime, etc.)
Need to install a software CAM emulator which can save you a bundle instead of the hardware CI CAM modules.
