dreambox 500s and tring

Dreambox 500s
My Location

Scanned channels ok, FTA channels ok, Encripted channels have sound but no picture. Older box (echostar) works ok. Have read that I need newCS_1.67 only, another says cccam1.14 & newCS_1.67.
Advise needed. Thanks,Stan
 
CCcam/MGCamd and NewCS 1.67 should open it, once the card has been activated.

NewCS is just the card reader so it should work with most versions of CCcam and MGCamd :D
 
I want to buy a Tring card to view in my dm500. I see the tring cards are available with or without a conax smit cam. My question is will I need this conax smit cam or not or can the card just be placed directly into the receiver.
