Morning Gents,

I am having trouble with my DB900UHD. No Voltage whatsoever is passing to the LNB. Its definitely not the Tuner
cause I interchanged it with the other one I have in my DB 920 (which is alright) and still no juice, whilst the one I took out from
the 900UHD works perfectly in the 920. So I took to re-soldering some contacts on the mother board itself (dismantled
it from the chassis) and also the on the contacts section where the tuner is inserted into. But still no
luck. Any suggestions are welcomed.
N.B. otherwise everything works perfectly in the Box...Hard drive, Image, etc. etc.

There's usually a separate voltage line for the LNB power to the tuner, along with tuning voltage as well as power supply. At least it was in the analogue days. What tuner is it - maybe there's a service manual for it to get the pinout. Then you can check to see what readings you're getting.

I gave up! Couldn't get through that maze of tiny print circuits. Besides even if I could
locate a faulty component (FETs thyristors or what have you) I simply could not extract
them in any way or form. So I grudgingly gave up.

I believe that a good technician could fix such problem.

How do you know it's not software problem? LNB voltage is controlled by software, polarization 13/18V

Yes, if one changes the whole mother board of the Receiver otherwise how can you change a
surface mounted devices (smds) I,C,s measuring a few m/m where even the soldering device
has to be of a specialised company standard to extract such components and besides
assuming that one somehow manages to locate the faulty component BUT it doesn't
bear any code or number or whatever on its body how can anyone replace such Item?

Because this has been going on for the past 30 days or more....sometimes the whole system works perfectly
for days on end and then one fine day it doesn't until finally the it came to an abrupt halt no
matter what I did to get it up and working. I even put another receiver in conjunction with my
Dish setup to verify if that part was ok, which it was, besides I even compared the 900 UHD
with my other 920 to see that software wise everything was the same since I have Newnigma
images on both Receivers.
