Dreambox and High Definition TV?

i have heard that when HDTV comes in next year, all these so called Hard drive recorders on the market at the moment, are going to be obsolete!!

if this is true, then surely this means the Dreambox will become an old machine overnight :(

or is this a load of old codswallop...
 
I think that there'll be heaps of LDTV around for long enough to get good use from the DB. I've heard that its inability to decode HDTV is a software limitation anyhow, but then I don't know sh!t about it. :(
 
I believe that over and above the fact there will be heaps of old low definition stuff around, there will be very little of the high definition stuff. The suppliers of the equipment and designers of the technology are bigging it up, but I believe that it will remain in the videophile market alone for some time to come.
