Dreambox Installation preferance questions

i think im stuck with the chimmey as there is a house opposite which is in line of sight but i had it repointed last year (did it myself) and it is like new.

what size is the mini dish?

@compufunk well i thought that was sorted with sky but i suppose the nature of cs is it may go bad anytime.
is there any time estimates for the card swap to be complete as im in no rush to set this up was just going to pick up bits and pieces over the next few months

The sly zone 1 mini dish is the dish you see on every other house in the street. Pretty much as small as they go, about 40 cm across and less from top to bottom. Oval shaped.

As for CS I suggest you keep your eye on the forum. The reason people are speculating a change is because sly Italia did just that. Once the card swap was done they followed by changing the algorythm word length which rendered all current cam emulators useless. That has been fixed for now with OSCAM , but people seem to think that's not the end of the battle.

It's possible sly UK will do something similar.

dont think these small mini dishes will work where i am (belfast) im almost sure this is called zone 2 and again i think i have read somewhere that the mini dish wont work on zone 2

Then you'll need a zone 2 dish. Same design just a bit bigger.
