Dreambox recording freezes!

Hi Guys

The other night I installed Nabilo image and when I tried to pause the tv then play it, it worked but when i hit play it plays for a few secs then freezes, and jumps back to real time! It did not do this before. To make it even worse I went back to Gemini image, and its doing it on here now too!

Anyone any ideas??

I am not sure if I understand what you are doing. Please give more details.
If you have a recording then connect the box to PC with your FTP application and then download the specific recording and any others *.ts files.
Open the files using Nero DVD Player (or any other application with ts support) and see if they play smoothly, without any freezes.
If everything is OK, this might rule out if the files are corrupted.
Notice the file size and the channel name.
 
Sorry, when i pause the live tv, as soon as i come back to it and pres play to resume, the problem starts

Now I am even more confused.
The thread title is:
Dreambox recording freezes!
Can I assume that there are no recordings involved since your new post talks about live TV?
 
He is talking about playback problems maybe?
One issue that I have with the dreambox 5620 (recording/playback to the computer with a lan cable): Sometimes I press "play", the movie starts and after 2 seconds I get a black screen. No picture at all. If I reboot the dreambox, it comes back on, but if I press again the play button same happens. The only thiong I can do is cut the dreambox off the power for a few seconds, and then try again. Maybe this is a similar problem....

Sorry, i mean live tv. I meant when you pause live tv then come back to it and resume. I meant recording as it is recording when you pause :)

Ok, ive figured out that its something to do with encrypted channels. I am using g**x with my sky card. I tried the pause function with ITV (which is FTA) and it works fine! its only on encrypted channels.

Anyone any ideas??
 
I was not aware you could record encrypted channels with anything else except with a sky + box.
 
Topper, you can record with a dreambox and a valid card with newcamd...

Which is probably his mistake he is using gbox or as he calls it g**x
 
I will try my card using newcamd instead of gbox, but it used to work fine!
 
Yes! I have a similar problem, how did you solve it?i.e. the recording plays and then screen goes black ...
