yeah u can do it apparently, isnt there an option in the menu to record to pc or stream over the net? Only way i know how to stream is via scart output and onto computer via s-video and audio connections or the yellow video connection, then i think you can use windows movie maker somehow to stream the image over the net but im not totally sure

well what you do with it is what you do with it, it is possible but rather you get your friend interested in this sort of thing for freeloading off you. From my past experiances people stream over net and charge others to watch it, as for putting it on sopcast i am firmilular with this software, i used to watch internet TV myself but theres no way your computer will be able to handle it, simple beacuse of the maount of people going to be connected to your machine.

Unless your got a server to sort all the traffic out you are going nowehere mate, your connection will be too tied up to do anything.

This is cardsharing, not allowed by (any) law

If U wanna do this, do it without too much talk:)

Try the Gbox, easy to work with

cmon guys....give him a break...he isnt askign about c@rdsharing. he isnt asking about gb0x

He is asking how to stream his DB over LAN/WAN.

I suggest you use the most powerful search engine in the world and type " dreambox stream net"

you will be able to have specific password etc applied

Last time I done this...I used VLC, shoucast and a video capture output card ( about a tenner)

there are also 2 or 3 usefull guides as stickies..here:-

There is no need to use a SCART cable with a Dreambox, as you've been told before. A Dreambox uses Ethernet.

If you want to CS try CCcam. No idea about sopcast; do they have an FAQ that you can read?

ive done this before, but it wasnt really dreambox based.

i streamed a footy game to my work a few years back, using a usb capture card (£15) and windows media encoder (free download)

it is\was kinda possible just from the dreambox but bandwidth was an issue as the dreambox can not compress the stream
