Dreambox broken down..!

Uh - ohh - have just learned that something has gone bad inside my dreambox..!

Out of curiosity - I removed the dreambox and connected an old Humax box - just to find out if it really was the diseqc og lnb's which were the problem..
And - they are not - 'cause I can now watch all BBC FTA channels - from the humax box..

So - I guess - the DB has gone broken somehow..
What made me to think this initially was that I was unable to get it to show my pre-selected IP address - when holding the left lower button while starting up the box.. It showed a default one - and not the one I had decided.. So I could not even flash - to try and fault seek..

Anyway.. Has anyone of you guys experienced a brake-down of a DB..? And if so - can it be fixed - or is it possible to find out where it's broken..?
Or should I count it as a write-off..?

I guess it has trouble running 24 hours a day..
Are there any recommendations on how to run a db..? Switch of everytime - leave it stand by - or on..?
I find it a hassle to wait for a full boot every time I want to watch TV..

The warranty has expired - just over a year now..unfortunately..:-DOH!

Update:

Well - the humax did receive the BBC channels for 2-3 hours - but now they have just gone again..

Sooo - it may be that it is the LNB or the diseqc..
And - most importantly - that the DB is good after all..! Which I hope..

remove the lnb and boot the db up see if it boots fully m8

My Dreambox is left on all the time without a problem.

As long as it has plenty of ventilation it should be OK.

Just to finish off this thread:

I've spent a few days sorting out my prob:
All 4 LNBs are checked and found OK..
All diseqCs are checked and found OK..
After doing a full flash and re-installation of gemini - I downloaded all 2,500 channels..

It turns out that the reason I was not able to watch the BBC FTA channels was that they all appear on both 28.2E and 28.4E..!?
The ones on 28.4E goes fine through - but the ones on 28.2E - which I had previously selected - I cannot view..

This is new to me - I thought that all were on 28.2E - but apparently not..

So - now it works - at least the FTA..
