Dreambox broken down..!
Uh - ohh - have just learned that something has gone bad inside my dreambox..!
Out of curiosity - I removed the dreambox and connected an old Humax box - just to find out if it really was the diseqc og lnb's which were the problem..
And - they are not - 'cause I can now watch all BBC FTA channels - from the humax box..
So - I guess - the DB has gone broken somehow..
What made me to think this initially was that I was unable to get it to show my pre-selected IP address - when holding the left lower button while starting up the box.. It showed a default one - and not the one I had decided.. So I could not even flash - to try and fault seek..
Anyway.. Has anyone of you guys experienced a brake-down of a DB..? And if so - can it be fixed - or is it possible to find out where it's broken..?
Or should I count it as a write-off..?
I guess it has trouble running 24 hours a day..
Are there any recommendations on how to run a db..? Switch of everytime - leave it stand by - or on..?
I find it a hassle to wait for a full boot every time I want to watch TV..
The warranty has expired - just over a year now..unfortunately..!
