I am completely new to this kind of receiver and would seek some advice and guidance before I commit myself to ordering the equipment, therefore I would be grateful if any members could provide answers to the following:

1) I mainly watch sports in H.D. what is the best Dreambox for me

2) Do any Dreamboxes have a built in Wifi option, or if its Wifi ready does it need an adapter

3) Will I need a H.D. splitter from the Dreambox to the T.V.

4) I currently have the Sky package complete with H.D. box, on the Dreambox can you still use "say" the E.P.G. and the Sky + remote to record

5) I also have a 5400 Humax complete with motorised dish which I intend to replace with a Dreambox

6) If the Dreambox does not have a built in Wifi could I use a wireless NETGEAR Wall-Plugged Ethernet Bridge XE102 - bridge or similar to transfer a signal from my P.C.

7) I currently have a signal sender connected to my HUMAX which sends the signal from my living room to the bedroom, can the Dreambox do a similar function

8) Good reputable suppliers names and websites

9) I am keen to get this moving and therefore I would appreciate all the assistance any member can give me

The HD Dreambox models are Dm800 and DM8000.

5 isn't a question and can't help with the others. Either try reading the old 800/8000 posts or look at the specs on the DM website.

Welcome to the forum :) (as an active member ;) )

Regarding Q6, the DM8000 has an active Wi-Fi connection.

If you intend using a Sky UK card. My advise would be to hold off for a while and not to invest any money until things become clearer.

I know some dissagree with me here, but I feel there is no way of knowing that the new Sky UK cards will work on the dreambox until after the swap is complete.

People have it working at present, but who knows what surprises Rupert has in store.

Quite true compufunk. Its not a good time to jump in cold..
