DreamboxManagerSuite and VLC version later than 1.0.5 does not work.

I use streaming a lot as I find it very convenient to view TV in other rooms.
So I found the DreamboxManagerSuite easiest to use on all PCs but on some PCs I noticed following error msg. after starting DreamboxManagerSuite.
Error msg:
Could not find VLC-Player. Streaming is disabled.
Error Text:Unable to find an entry point named ‘libvlc_exception_init’ in DLL ‘libvlc’

I noticed those which worked had VLC version 1.0.5 and those that did not had VLC version 1.1.4 so installing VLC 1.0.5 fixed the problem.

Is there anyone that know of an updated version of DreamboxManagerSuite that works with a newer version of VLC or any other Streaming tool that works as DreamboxManagerSuite?

Dreambox VLC Streamer v1.2 works fine with VLC 1.1.4 on my DM8000. Search for it online.
 
I was not aware of the Dreambox VLC Streamer v1.2, tried that and as you said it does work with newer VLC versions, I also noticed that I now can get Subtitles for Canal+ :-)

But I still find DreamboxManagerSuite easier to use and also it gives a better overview of programs that are about to be broadcasted. So I guess I stay on VLC 1.0.5 for a while and hope the german guys update it.
 
Oh well, as the saying goes, you win some, you lose some.

The VLC Streamer was never intended to be a suite of programs like DreamboxManager, just a step up from putting your DM box IP in your browser.
 
So, what streaming application or streaming client are you guys using?
Until now DreamboxManagerSuite has the higest wife factor which is quite important in this home :-)
