Hi All, I have just installed the latest version of dreamstream E2 on my PC, ( ihave a dm800 clone with nabilosat 0.12) everything is fine, it starts say its streaming I get about 1 sec of audio/video then screen goes blank. no vid or audio but says its streaming.

anyone any ideas?

update, it will work on some channels but i think they are the ones with lower picture quality???

I think you just answered your question yourself :-)
your network connection cannot keep up with the data stream coming from the dreambox, so everything goes black. The lower-quality channels produce a lower datastream, and can still be processed by your network. A guess : you're using wireless ? Try connecting the pc with a fixed cable to the router, that should work with any SD channel.
 
Hi JTA, thx, cable direct to router works a treat!! am i to presume the issue is with the ethernet bridge (netgear wge101) and that the router is ok (netgear dg834v3)?
Also is there a faster wireless system that could cope?

the difference between wireless and cat 5/6 is , wireless 54mbps if your lucky that you dont have any microwave interference. and cat 5/6 100mbps so the option is direct cable ?
 
Hi guys...Question: Is there any way to get this to stream from the PC to dreambox..or am I missing something obvious?...cheers

@dale094, Hi, understand that the wireless is 54mbps and that wired 100mbps but if i monitor network usage it is still less than 20% in task manager for both wired and wireless??? what I'm after is if the shortfall in bandwith is between the router and pc or the router to the ethernet bridge.

@gandalfthegrey, Hi never tried to stream from pc to dm so sorry cant help, are you trying to play a movie or something from your pc to your tv?
 
@gandalf: streaming from pc to dreambox is done using VLC, haven't tried this yet, but have read that it is possible.
@mlc1967: don't forget that wireless is normally half-duplex, so you're limited to only half the bandwith to start with, compared to wired which is full-duplex. So you're comparing 26mbps to 100mbps .....
 
on my setup i have the router, then a 4port switch linking my pc dreambox i use vlc player for streaming just put your dreambox ip in the url search bar i.e 192.168.0.* you can check this in your dreambox settings expert menu communications. once you get your ip type in and you will get your webxtv page from there you can watch streaming from your pc
