Dropping channels on Grundig digibox

Hiya,

I'm having exactly the same problem!

It started about a week ago with one or the other channel: eg Comedy Central gone but Comedy central+1 there, Hallmark gone, Hallmark+1 there. Now SKY1 is gone but SKY2 and 3 ar there. I've lost all but 2 of all the SKY movie channels. Blue screen FYI message on these channels is "This programme is not available".

Any thoughts? Or should we contact SKY?

PS: My box is a Grundig - no idea about tech details of the dish - hopfully not important....?

Although your symptoms may, at first sight, appear similar, you would be better Posting in a more suitable Forum (Sky related) and I've asked Mods to move it for you :)

Not sure what your location is "pj::" may mean something to some folk, but not to me!

Anyhow, Grundigs are very well known for Power Supply Capacitor degradation causing issues such as gradual loss of channels, so consider that a strong possibility.

@ Tivu, the pj:: in the location field was acquired when we switched forum software back in 2000, it was put in by deafult if there was nothing in that field.

@ Luxkatz, being a little out of the main beam in Luxembourg, it could possibly be a dish alignment problem, but as Tivu says, the Grundig digibox is prone to power supply problems and this is more than likely the cause of your problems. There are a couple of companies on the web who operate an exchange service, it is quite straightforward to remove.
