E4-Film Four

a mate of mine here in Poland tried to add E4, but after inputting the data through the add channel option, received the message "No Signal...", i.e. he did not even get the list of three channels (e4, bloomy etc) to add. He usually gets all the channels I get, we only live 15kms apart, but he's got a grundig sky box...could this be the reason?
 
Check all the setting are right.

Might be a stupid question, but you are going into "Other Channels" arent you? (Services 6)

The other answer is that you can mimic a S*y receiver using a dreambox, the official card can then be used in that box. The card would have to have been paired in a S*y receiver first.

Can you provide me with more information about mimic a Sky receiver ?
At the moment I've been using a standard digibox and while I can receive here in Rome C4 and C5 there is no chance to get BBC interactive on 12441 V.
I'm wondering if I can get these BBC channels with a different receiver that still allows me to have C4 and C5.

Ameolive,
You can use digital receiver with common interface and a Dragon CAM which is running predator 3.11.
A Matrix reloaded CAM will also work with latest software.
A Dreambox will also work but can be difficult for beginners to use.

Looks like Irish E4 is gone from 11.565 and now only available on bloody Astra 2D!
 
I think it's still there, looks like a programme breakdown problem to me.

hi there. ameolive, I'm about to get what the other m8s are telling you : a dragon cam+loader+predator 3.11 (or 3.12) and see if I can get a better signal from my echostar as an alternative to panasonic 30 which does't get any signal at the moment (only a few manual input frequencies on "other channels") and when it does it "freezes" and needs resetting/rebooting. it's a hope.
you can get that hardware on the web saving 5 to 10 euros if compared with shop prices, but then you have add shipping costs so in the end I decided to go into a shop in rome (videosat service in via di monteverde) and get the lot + a cas 3 i/f programmer and hopr for the best.
what dish size you have in rome?

Sorry I'm not an expert it all sounds terribly complicated : probably I should not have posted the question in first place !

Anyway as for the dish size I'm living in EUR and with my 80 cm dish I can receive at any time C4 ( signal strentgth 100% quality 30% ) except in heavy rain at night.
The digibox I use is a GRUNDIG GDS 310 ( bought on e-bay with a mated card ) and the LNB is a standard 0.7 db ( it costed 2 years ago 20 euro ) , cable lenght 10 mt.

I think I can improve the performance of the system using a better lnb and a 1 mt dish but I don't really see a need for that.

It is so disappointing that also C4 is moving to 2D this was the reason why I was enquiring about BBCi I don't konow for which reason I cannot get these channels using a SKY digibox while I understand that it is possible using a non SKY digital receiver .

Irish E4 was working very well for me until Friday. Now I get no signal here (Valencia, Spain) since Saturday.

Edit: 1h after writing this E4 started working again.
