Today I digged out my Echostar 120 offset KU dish of the shed . To get more easy acces to it , attached it to my mobile pole in the garden . The plan is to test DE plates and other systems for depolarising at C band . First pointed it to 5 West to get signal at KU . Marked the aiming laser spot and made a structure with an 40 mm pvc tube , to keep a reference line . Prepaired a conical feedhorn (TRF) with 3 M6 rods to a modified scalaring as support . At the lathe , made 3 special bearings with M6 inside and chainwheels outside , surrounded by a chain . (ex copy machineparts ) This gives me the oppertunity (by hand) to move the TRF (lnb fixed to the support) or the TRF and the lnb (lnb fixed to the TRF), to or backwarts from the dish in a very secure way . Made a nylon adaptor ring , inside 40 mm , outside 68 mm exact fitting in the TRF and placed the unit over the 40 mm tube . Removed the KU lnb clamp and attached the feedarms with 3 new made brackets to the support scalaring . And than it went dark , first uppertunity to go on will be Thursday .(have to work 2 days)
