I have a Echostar AD300IP and a 1.2 metre SCT Highway gregorian dish. For a number of months I have had a positioning problem which has been getting worse. The feedback pulses start acting strange and speed up or stop altogether causing the dish to lose position. I have set up my dish numerous times and then it happens again. I have looked at the motor arrangement on this dish and found it to be a simple electric motor and a few cogs. One of the cogs has a hole cut out od it and a reed sensor either side. As it spins it obviously sends pulses though the electonics and on to the receiver. Could the sensor be the problem? I would have thought it would either work or would not work and no in between? The problem can be there one minute and not the next. Could the receiver be the problem? I do not have a spare receiver I could try and I do not want to buy another and find the original receiver was okay and the problem was the sensor all along. It is not the wiring as I removed the motor altogeter and connected it at the receiver with a short lead and I got the same problem. Is there some checks I could do with a multimeter at the receiver end when the dish is moving to see if I am getting the pulses. What exactly do I look for.. I have checked the 5 volt line with is okay Thanks for any help Darren p.s If any one in Aberdeenshire has a spare receiver I could borrow for a couple of hours I would be extremely gratefull
