I have been given a ELAP Motorkit with no instructions. I live in central France I would like to use this on my dish.
The box contains a power supply with two telephone type connectors 2 pole, the motor box has a connector with a telephone type connector 4 pole. A small box with a "l ll " switch and is connected with the telephone connector 2 pole, 2 leads with connectors 2 pole one long, one short .

Question, is there something missing???? please help

Hello George and welcome to the forum. Not sure if you have instructions but these may help (sorry but they are in German)

It's not a motor I'm familiar with and it looks like it isn't Diseqc or USALS capable like a more modern one. Maybe one of the other regulars on here has come across one before.

(Edit : Not German but Dutch)
Thanks so much for a quick reply...I connected it as per the photo and it worked, Ive made a copy of the site and a friend of mine is Dutch, I will get him to translate at the weekend.

A million thank you's

George

Having looked at the diagrams, it seems as though it's hand operated positioner. A bit tiresome if compared to the more modern USALS method where software locates the satellite via a command from the receiver but it will have advantages in regard to fine tuning the dish azimuth.

Looks like an old one I had installed some 10 years ago, worked well, but as said above, no GotoX or USALS and given the cheap price of modern DiSEqC motors, probably better to give it a swerve and update to a modern one.

Thanks to all for a swift informative reply, I was given this (new) unit by a friend and as its now working it will be a starting point, but I would like to install a better system. Can anyone suggest a system thats not too expensive. I live in Central France.

I did purchase (was sold) a Dreambox and dish for 300 Euro last year, but this has so far failed to work despite hours and hours of fiddling and having the box reprogrammed.

I would like something simple to install, any suggestions ??

Thanks once again

George, this is the supplier I use in France :

He is reliable and his carriage costs are reasonable. Do you just want a simple single tuner receiver to use with your working motor and dish? My VU+ Solo has been used for both my motorised and multisat set up, hasn't let me down and was relatively simple to set up. In any case if you get stuck we are here to help......

Spanning : 24 - 30 VDC

It's a H2H 36V mount. All you need is a positioner which can be an old analogue receiver with built-in positioner (I still use a LT8700) or a diseqc controlled positioner like Vbox.

/Edit
I was wrong, there is no sensor (reed). @sonnetpete was right :

Having looked at the diagrams, it seems as though it's hand operated positioner.

It's more an item for a museum ;) A modern diseqc mount with USALS doesn't cost much..

There is also a diseqc model , the rotor house is big but inside everything is rubbish .

At pic 2 you can see why it only has a reach of 72º
