Electronic Prescriptions

I have to take medication for one reason or another, and I keep getting hassled from the pharmacy to go electronic.

Now most of my repeat medication can be sent electronically to the pharmacy.

But I have to take diazepam tablets these are a (controlled drug class c) and some times a very strong painkiller (controlled drug class c) now because of this I can send everything but the controlled drug electronically, because controlled drugs still have to be on the paper prescriptions.

So what is really the point?

I might as well carry on collecting the prescription as I normally do.

Or will this "electronic prescription be yet another waste of time and money) :mad:

Yes a waste of money. And and the docs receptionist is really dishey which does me far more good than any pills from the doc.
 
I don't get hassled about going electronic but just occasionally asked: however, I always refuse. The reason is that I like to give our local independent pharmacy my custom for everything EXCEPT ibuprofen. They only do the type with a starch coating, which sticks in my mouth and leaves a nasty taste, and I can only abide the sugar coated ones.

A bit of a shame for the local as I will get my other prescriptions filled all at the same but they aren't going to change their supplier just for me.
 
same nonsense at my doctors/pharmacy also, also i have to go to the doctors once every 28 days now instead of 56 as since recent rule changes the doctor can only give me 1 month supply of tablets on the CD list... seems there trying to save money but wasting more of it it seems
 
I got changed to electronic today, so next repeat will go that way. Just when I want the cd painkiller I will have to go and pick it up from the surgery.

I cannot relly complain as the Dr is a friend of mine, and is bending the rules for me as I live outside the practise boundaries. I was suppose to change to another Dr.
 
The doctors having boundaries is b.s., Here in the west of Scotland they don't even do house calls any more unless your "terminally ill" or bed bound. So half the time making you switch practice because you move two mile up the road is daft.
