Email problem

After registering some 8 hours ago I got a message that an email had been sent to confirm. All I see now is "Hi johnwf, if you are seeing this message, you have not activated your account by clicking on the link in the activation Email. You will not be able to use certain elements of the forum before so doing" Which email of course never came.

Just wondering, why say you sent an email whilst you never did. Maybe better turn the dish obsession into forum management obsession?

The email is sent automatically. Have a look in your spam folders in case its ended up in there.

There are also known problems with some webmail services - theres a post about it somewhere in this section.

Not sending is not the same as not receiving.

Check your spam management options to see if there is an option set to delete spam immediately. If it is set to yes then you wouldn't even know there had been one there.

We are talking about the spam folder you see when using web mail rather than using Outlook Express or similar.

That is true. Yet, let's wonder how come the copy of the activation mail sent this morning came through in seconds.

Note: No I am not using the horror named webmail. And, @PaulR, no, my mailhost does not have a spam filter, I disabled it long time ago. I filter my end through my email client.
