enigmatic cam emulaters

I dont understand how emulaters work.I become more confused when i think them working as original cam.Why then this process of software hacking is stoped and how these people get to know the algorithms and decoding process involved in various CA encryption system.As I get into it the enigmatic Cams and keys become more complex is there any faq or any knowledge resource!!!!!
