Hi Team

You probably will not be able to do it as it stands?

The Ericsson version of the RX8200 is now end of life.
The policy is that MediaKind do not enable licensing on end of life products.

You need a unit that already has 4:2:2 enabled if it is end of life status, otherwise you are gonna miss out on the 4:2:2 feeds.

Hi Moonbase

All sorted

All 61 licences activated

Now waiting for.the SDI to HDMI

Shame the unit is so big!!!!

Need to stick it in the basement with those fans kicking in feels like it's gonna take off!

Is that a big deal to get all these licenses activated?
I am tempted to get such a box but as I have absolute no knowledge about these pro things I don't want to blow money for something that cannot be used in full extent.

check the modules contain 4:2:2 hardware, if not the license alone wont be enough

depending on your requirements an apple tv 4k box handles 4:2:2

Modules installed

See screenshot

prob see if it can be flashed like a PC/android box
Or return it back

No need to return it, even if the seller does not have a 4:2:2 board you might be able to source one online from someone who has spares.
I have seen them for sale online in the past.

Goodmorning Moonbase
Hope all is well.
Gutted though.
My SDI to HDMI arrives today
So will play around with this and let you know the outcome.

If u spot anything let me know.

Thanks again for your support

Hi @moonbase and Team

I have finally able to get pictures from the Rx8200

Tested BBC 28.2 and now a Biss feed on 28.2E

Where is the option for the keys?

You need hardware board 1922 for use of the descrambler, what is more apparent is this a N*S version pretty rare on the open market.

Daaam. So is this worth more money because of N*S

Right so is there any way to view biss encryption on this peace of sh*t?

I've enabled everything. Got my first pictures of this and now another hoop to go through

Depends on what the end user wants it for.

In your circumstances, if the biss hardware board has been removed at the expense of NDS and you want biss, the NDS has no added value.
If the unit has no option to decode biss and no board to decode 4:2:2 it is not much use to a hobby DX'er. It needs some boards adding to it to be useful to a feed man.

The RX8200's come in a variety of configurations that are derivations of a base spec unit. Often they are specced upwards from base spec to meet the needs of the original purchasing customer.. For example, a broadcaster who was only going to use the ASI IN port would not need to purchase the RF board or the IP board so they would be left out of the build configuration.
