Not sure about the availability of a professional receiver with HDMI out built in.
Many years ago I saw the Ateme DR5000 in which HDMI out could be added fitting an additional board, but it was more than 10 years ago, I do not know now.
Anyway, I believe the HDMI lacking is not a problem. You can find very good ASI to HDMI converters at good pries.
Please remember that the RX8200 is reaching the end of its life, now there are newer receivers like Sencore or Appear, but you must have a very very very large bank account to purchase them.... hahaha!!
And I do not believe they are available in the used market.
But for our usage the RX8200 is absolutely fantastic, and being at the end of life we can find many of them for sale at very interesting prices.
The problem could be what you are about to solve now: boards and licenses lacking.
Also, unfortunately many receivers was hardly used, and not always in the best environments, so their working and cosmetic conditions must be carefully evaluated before purchasing.
This is the reason for which I suggested mine considering your enthusiasm, but I don't want to insist so much.

Actually the receiver is not in my setup but well protected in its original box instead.
I have detailed pictures if you want, but I believe that opening a private conversation would be better.

pc imagery should look stellar if the video codecs are set up correctly to deinterlace the video.

This is easy to do. You just need access to the source licensing.
Yes, the RX8200 can have licenses enabled even if the corresponding hardware is not installed.

From my personal tests it is not a contest, the RX8200 wins easily.

I found that DBVDream is a cranky flakey program that is prone to crashes and as soon as you start using it with 4:2:2 your CPU usage increases. There is also latency added to the output by DVBDream.

I compared the picture speed of the same source side by side using both an RX8200 and DVBDream. The RX8200 is faster, if you were using DVBDream for betting you would be skint in a day.

Why the obsession with HDMI OUT, just buy a respected brand of SDI to HDMI converter and use that. Even the Chinese clones do a decent job.
Both AJA and BlackMagic are good brands used by broadcasters, get one of their SDI to HDMI converters.

Hope you well.

Thank you so much for your input put again.

Its not going to be easy to find these boards for my rx8200 unless you have any spare parts of this.

If u find anything decent and not at a silly price I may get this up and running.

I did manage to get video from 28.2E using the SDI to HDMi. It was good, but only video no sound.

Just gutted can not check a 422 stream.on this yet and unable to enter biss.

Can you give me the exact parts/hardware I need so I can ask the seller.

If I find any 4:2:2 boards I will be buying them for myself as I can pick up cheap RX8200 without boards.
I told you previously, look for an old bitched up RX8200 that has the 4:2:2 board and buy that, take the 4:2:2 board out and put it in your RX8200.

The seller has no 4:2:2 boards, I spoke to him yesterday and he confirmed he has none.

Probably you got such HDMI converter that does not process audio, only video?
As Moonbase told you, look at AJA or Blackmagic products. I have a Roland converter, it works very well but it is not 4K compliant as I bought it about 10 years ago.

Can someone please explain what makes this IRD special over others? Is it the fact it supports MPEG4, 4:2:2 and BISS, or is there something else?
Also, is it possible to enable all options by hacking the device?

There is no hack to enable all licensing options. The updates are done using access and tools that are not in the public domain. MediaKind/Ericsson have this locked down tightly.

In addition, MediaKind/Ericsson will no longer upgrade the licenses on an RX8200, it is end of life, zero support.
 
That is what I expected.

I have a different brand IRD and it is 100% secure. Any support or licensing is done via SSH by the manufacturer. You basically own a Linux device without root access. All data is stored in flash IC's and I doubt you could read the content even if you desoldered them.
No FW updates distributed to the user - again the device updates itself, if authorised, over secure connection.

Yes, they are locked down securely and with the RX8200 being end of life there is no support from the manufacturer or their approved resellers.
There are unofficial channels where license upgrades might possibly be obtained but they come at a premium price and are not for low rent comedians.

But what makes this particular Ericsson RX8200 special?
 
Don't know if you still need the 4:2:2 module, but if you do, this fella 'Ralovni' has some on the global sales place. Search this 'MEDIAKIND/ERICSSON RX8200 MPEG2/4 4:2:2 DECODER BOARD'. I've bought from him in the past and had no problems. He's in Bulgaria.
