Just bought a GTMedia Finder V8 (V73-HD, Latest Gold Colour Model)
Was just aligning one of my dishes and thought i'd see if this thing would work with the QO-100 Beacon, indeed it does and tunes outside the normal domestic satellite range. I will have to see if it will tune in lower SR's, LNB is a Octagon Quad Green

Received DATV "CT1BYM"@ 1000KS
Device does not allow you to select below 1000KS, currently messing with ALI chipset editor, to see if I can manually add a channel with low SR.

On the newly installed 80cm on the roof, and the ADX inline with the SF8008 I am getting a signal / noise ratio of 4.2db, which I will tweak slightly later.

Channel - A71A displayed, morse code and short video of the satellite launch.20190908_131637.webp20190908_133249.webp

I have just uncovered a Philex converter which has no switch on it, purely in / out connectors, so I assume this just does the 250MHz downshift of frequency that was required for Astra 1D in the good old analogue days (now perched at 73 East)

No use on other satellites that I can see. Will run up tomorrow and compare losses with the Global unit.20190927_214934.webp20190927_214923.webp20190927_214915.webp

There's still activity(currently from Austria) on these sub-band transponders on Es'hail 1.

Apparently anybody with one of those iBravebox (or possibly the Freesat ) finders can also tune in without using one of the ADX/Astra 1D downconverters.

I will try, and report back after I've finished cooking.

I only recently have the TBS 5927 that allows 750 MHz input, the beacon 10491.5 H 1500 is about 11 dB.
Crazyscan found SR 500 and 333 signals, so this should be good enough, despite standard IBU LNB.

My Dmyco doesnt (same meter, badge engineering)- it just says out of range if you try to go that low. :(

I will reload the original software to see if it allows the lower frequencies , the July 19 version gives symbol rates below 1000 but fixes the if band settings the local oscillators of the most common lnbs.

I think the activities have started already on 10499.25 H 333, each British amateur takes about 5 min.
Quite a lot on other frequencies as well in the last hours (about 10).
Edit: I guess BST means standard time, not summer time! :-doh
8 Britische amateurs logged.

I have some spectrum plots of the low band but no actual recordings , the main frequency is upwards of 75 dB above background level but the Shack outputs are only 3 dB or lower.

I've tried old and older versions of the iBrave software here, neither will allow the analyser to go below the 10700 guard frequency. I do not have the original that was released with the finder prior to 20/07/18, which would have been version 1.

I can experiment with the other brand name software versions on the finder here tomorrow, though I will need some pointers on where they might be sourced.
