Es’hail 2 25.5e

Yesterday he arrived at about 22,5~23°E, and performed a maneuver.... now it is about 23.5°E with slight movement to the east.

Now it is about 23,8°E, and it has also activated the second telemetry, frequency 11205,00 RHCP.

Anyone know how low the TBS6925 will go?
The 6983/6903 have the STV09X chip set which will go down to 144MHz (not with streamreader which is limited to 250MHz) and is also used in the tuner used in the MiniTiouner. I don't know what the 6925 has. I'd just set the .ini for the full range and see what it does. Set CS/EBSPro to L band and full range with an LNB attached. It will probably flat line where it doesn't work.

In the case of the 69x3s, beware: If running below ~900MHz and you have strong signals above ~900MHz you will get them aliasing down below 900. It's not normally a problem for 10GHz ham use but with Es'hail there may be TV >900MHz. I sometimes run it with a low pass filter (but turn the LNB bias off or use a DC block otherwise there may be smoke)

As an aside, there must be some normal sat boxes that have the Serit tuner as per MiniTiouner Serit tuner - BATC Wiki. Anyone know of one?

Finally, a TLE appeared yeaterday evening, Es'hail 2 is stationary at 24.0°E, apparently the in-orbit test location.

Now it is about 23,8°E, and it has also activated the second telemetry, frequency 11205,00 RHCP.
This evening I find both beacons absent. Anyone else find the same?

I've only seen half Nim Serit tuners in sat boxes, I do actually have a MiniTiouner here however!
One thing I will say, Serit are very helpful when I needed a replacement tuner for a sat box, excellent customer support from their Hong Kong office.

Telemetries are switched to on-station mode. Linear polarity and MENA beam... 10706.00 V and 11205.00 H.

Previously they were on the omnidirectional beam.

Thanks Marcus_21. Transponders tests going on this morning. eg 10724V.

many test today !

Es'hail 2 arrival at final location 25.9°E must have happened yesterday, now also confirmed by TLE.

Anyone know how low the TBS6925 will go?
Mine doesn't reach below 10545 MHz, so unlikely to be much good for receiving the AMSAT transmissions.

BTW, a converter such as the Zinwell SUP-2400, which I have used with a US DirecTV Ka LNB for shifting its low IF output to the 950-2150 range, is ideal for use here. No need to open up your LNB to change its local oscillator.
A small modification is required to the unit, a wire or two to solder in. Widely available for a few quid from the States, an online search will bring up loads of sellers.

My Promax analyser has the usual 950-2150 IF range which cannot be extended, so I used this with the SUP-2400 for seeing if I can go down to, for instance 10000 MHz. An Octagon Optima OTLSO PLL LNBF was used for reception of signals generated by a VMA Spectrum Analyser.

Works fine. Obviously, without a relevant transmission yet from ES'Hail 2, I have to use the Promax to show the results with just the signal from the VMA source, rather than any STB etc. The SUP-2400 spectrum output is reversed, so it has to be taken account of when we convert the frequencies to a LOF figure in whichever receiver we use.

To find the LO frequency to set in a receiver for a specific received transmission, here's an example for 10000 MHz :-

10000 MHz minus 9750 MHz (LNB's LO) = 250 MHz.

Reversed spectrum of the SUP's 2400 MHz minus 250 MHz = 2150 MHZ. That's on the edge of your receiver;'s IF range!

For the LO figure to put in your receiver, 10000-2150 = 7850 MHz.
