I'm not sure why eScapes is using a 25fps progressive frame rate, but the result is not really good. Not only the picture is jerky, but it lacks detail too. You only have to see the logo of the channel to see what's wrong (I think half of the frames are lost in the process of the video format conversion).

The feature that has the New South Wales beach on it right now looks perfect here with no jerkiness.

The garden scene with the flowers moving around shows the frame drop effect well.

Escapes say on their FB page they will be making some changes to their signal over the next couple of days.

Bet they didn't expect someone to watch them in black and white on 405 lines though....:D

I watch it on a 21" lcd int bedroom and the picture jerkiness is almost negligent, you have to look hard for it, or maybe its the tv with a variable frame rate!

How strong is the signal in the UK? I can't get it in Dundalk, east coast of Ireland. Signal is 7 dB on F15 receiver but that is not enough to clear a 8PSK signal. I don't think it is a problem with my dish as I get up to 17 dB on other tp's. Anyone getting it in Ireland?

Sorry, not in Ireland or the UK but there's no appreciable difference here. On my set up, 13E is 4 degrees off focus on a Penta 85 but all transponders show between 75% - 80% SNR using an ALPS slimline lnb.

You are well within the footprint area.

Hmmm....I've checked this with my DrHD F15...it didn't show up at all after an auto scan....but did after a blind scan but it's only registering 3.5dB....this is with the 1.2m dish......the only thing is, the info bar displays the transponder as DVB-S not S2......AFIK there isn't a way of altering transponders to a different standard...adding a T/P only gives you the options of frequency, polarity and symbol rate. Maybe it can be done with the editing software?

Yes, you may change the modulation (DVB-S/QPSK, DVB-S2/QPKSK or 8PSK) with NDFEdit or Clarke Tech Editor Studio, but I'm not sure if this really matters for F15. It is very strange though to get only 3.5dB in this frequency of Hotbird 13D in your region.

On the VU+ I'm getting nearly 80% SNR on a much smaller dish.....in fact I'm receiving other transponders from 13E (including DVB-S2) on the F15 without problem.

It looks like overloading to me (or some kind of interference? ), specially if you have a high gain LNB on the F15's dish (for example an inverto black ultra).

Could be, I have an variable attenuator between my Black Ultras and the F15 since the cable run is only 3m between dish and receiver. This improved general reception for me.

Well I've been out and hung a damp cloth over the LNB and that reduced the reading to zero.......as for interference, I guess it's possible but wouldn't that affect the VU+?....nor does it explain why dxhound and I are having the same problem....
