I always suggest that the first thing you should do is work out where your due South position is, this is necessary for fitting a motorized dish, the most practical way to view all the satellites.
If you have a South facing garden, with a clear line of site from 45E to 45W, then you are fortunate and can install your setup at ground level, which makes installation, and maintenance, a lot easier.
If you have sight of a Sky dish these are positioned for Astra 2, 28.2 degrees East, this is 28.2 degrees East of South, which should give you a rough idea of where South is by moving 28.2 degrees to the right when facing the same way as the dish is pointing.
Alternatively if you try a site like dishpointer.com this can show you where your due south position is, and your latitude and longitude.
