My Satellite Setup

My Location

Looks like 11200-11450 has been migrated. All parameters remain the same. Looks like a PE beam.

Interesting.

Things seemed to have gone quiet on the 28E reshuffle for a while, so that's happened beneath the radar, so to speak.

What make you say that ? same signals here on 11200 to 11700 no change I would have expected an increased signal had these frequencies migrated to 2E or 2F,

So are your signals now lower or non existent in Alicante ?

Eutelsat 28A 11200-11450 band still as weak as ever here in the UK compared to the Astra satellites. No changes from when I took measurements in January and February.

Anyway it is not possible until Astra 2G starts @ 28.2 east, re info from SES Astra as no Astra satellite at that location can cover these frequencies.

Downlink Frequencies used by satellites @ 28.2/28.5 east.

Astra 2A 11.700 to 12750
Astra 2C 10.700 to 11.200 + 11.700 to 12.250
Astra 2E 10.700 to 10.950 +12.500 to 12.750
Astra 2F 10.950 to 11.200 + 12.500 to 12.750

Eutelsat 28A 11.200 to 11.700 + 12.500 to 12.750

Due to launch 3rd qtr 2014 Astra 2G 10.700 to 12.750 ? no frequency plan found for this satellite atm

Astra 2F is attributed to transmit this out of range frequency 11464 H 22000 Commonwealth Games test card,

http://www.lyngsat.com/Astra-2F.html

I wonder how many other anomaly's there are to these frequency downlinks of Astra satellites @ 28.2 east ?

Mod Note:

If this Migration does turn out to be a false dawn, I will consider Deleting the Topic, in order to avoid confusion.

I'm sure we can wait a little longer for corroboration, though.

I'm 99% certain Astra will not be using the original Eutelsat frequency layout. When the switch happens it'll be obvious.

Updated frequency plan info here:-
http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/...uency-plan-28-2-28-5-east.161813/#post-888069

From this info 11450 to 11700 is covered by all 3 satellite but on various beams,
2E has these on a steerable beam Middle East, + UK & European Beam,
2F has these on an African Spot beam,+ UK & European Beam,
2G has these on an African Spot beam,+UK & European Beam,

So what the opening thread suggests may well be possible in the future.

I posted this earlier from a client's house so I can't confirm. But the spectrum display looked completely different on that part of the band compared to normal. But it is possible it is something weird about that LNB.

Doubtful as BT Sport 1&2 HD moved over to 28a just a couple of weeks ago, and as @william-1 has suggested there wont be any migration until 2G is co-located there.

Still Crap signal here as usual

11390V looks as rubbish as ever here.

SNR ~56-60% in light drizzle.

As a guide the frequencies from Eutelsat 28A on my 100cm dish here the signals are approx 33% lower than on 2E & 2F.
TM5302HD + 100cm dish from the same location 28.3 east
Eutelsat 28A 11427 H 27500 Signal = 97% Quality = 59% (LBP TV)
Astra 2F-----11463 H 22000 Signal = 97% Quality = 90% (Commonwealth Games test)

Conditions:- Cloudy Overcast No Rain

Yes, looks like I was mistaken. Thrown off by the feeds. So might as well delete the thread.

Rather than delete, I'll close it, but amend the Title somehow.

Even negative info can be of interest.

Saved for posterity :-lol
