Eutelsat 28A switchoff looming

11222H 10.5dB
11224V 10.6dB
11260V 12.2dB
11261V 11.7dB

60cm ex Sky analogue dish used for Sky digital for many years, TM5402.

Now
11222H 11.4dB
11224V 11.4dB
11260V 11.3dB
11261V 12.0dB

Pfft - hardly worth changing :D

................... Given that it's just a couple of MHz out, I doubt many boxes would care if the centre frequency was out a tiny bit?
In tests with other tuners to see how it works the automatic frequency control (CAF) in 2000, if the signal is good, error 3'5Mhz fine, no problems, above 4'5Mhz important loss and 5MHz signal. not tune the channel.
If the signal is very poor, 1 Mhz it shows, you can lose 5% of signal (for example 11022).
-----------

In the DVB tables...

11222 H -> 2311 TSID (that TSID is E28A)
11224 V -> 2106 TSID -> 17dB (that TSID is Astra)
11263 H -> 2301 TSID (that TSID is E28A)
11265 V -> 2108 TSID -> 17dB (that TSID is Astra)

So horizontals have not moved yet... and when they do the frequencies will change and go mid point between the verticals.
Beam is obviously Pan-European from that power level.
OK.

Now if I see it, here is the change TSID/frequency more graphic shapes, not take into account the tp 11052 which again do not tune.
Ahora si lo veo, aqui esta el cambio de TSID/frecuencia de formas mas grafica, no tener en cuenta el tp 11052 que de nuevo no lo sintonizo.

As a comparison, the remaining multiplexes on the E28A super beam have these levels...

11222 H - 11.7db 74%
11224 V - 11.3db 79%
11260 V - 11.8db 79%
11261 H - 11.2db 74%

11389 H - 9.1db 74%
11390 V - 11.4db 74%
11426 V - 10.9db 74%
11428 H - 9.2db 69%

Frequencies in bold now showing the following...

11222 H - 12.5db 74%
11224 V - 12.4db 79%
11260 V - currently no signal!
11261 H - 12.6db 74%

The LNB on the dish is skewed in favour of Eutelsat 28 A, I'd except that if the skew was set up for Astra's offset, then the SNR would rise a few decimal points again.

11260V <===> 11265V.
The tuner if you have good signal, this difference in frequency of the new tp would not have to give problems verified in the VU + DUO2.

The 11260V27500 signal is very strong, in the DB800S-HD is 17'5dB, SNR 100% AGC 99% BER 0

You're correct, doing a manual tune to 11265 V has returned the channels.

11265 V - 12.2db 79%

So overall the four multiplexes that have just moved craft are delivering similar SNR results.

Lyngsat have updated the transponder names for the old Eutelsat transponders now on Astra 2F from TA5-8 to 109-112.

Presumably the recent transfers to 2G will now be called 105-108.

It looks like they haven't even bothered to update the transfers to 2F UK beam at the start of the month (highlighted in bold). Surely you are not denying they are now on 2F UK spot?

I thought it was 2G UK spot. :-rofl2

Truth is I wasn't monitoring those transponders before so not sure what previous signal was. Anyway I'm not refuting anything, just stating what data the currently transmitted DVB tables hold.

Also Lyngsat haven't updated the TSIDs yet, so the DVB tables are ahead of Lyngsat.

Still no announcement from SES Astra about Astra-2G going live @ 28.2 east ? they normally are quick to promote & tell us of their success in bringing a satellite on line as this is good public relations.

Fair enough. The whole situation is a bit confusing considering SES haven't updated their sites either.

I've tried to summarise the changes here:

Still not updated in the DVB tables.
Lyngsat usually "slower" to update their databases compared to Flysat (frequency/TSID bad).
Lyngsat suele ser mas "lenta" para actualizar sus bases de datos comparada con Flysat (frecuencias/TSID mal).

Flysat don't show TSID data. King-of-sat corresponds exactly with the DVB tables.

I lyngsat say that updates the data more slowly than Flysat.

Lyngsat has no update data (frequency / TSID).
I do not say that often have Flysat / TSID wrong.
PS: Do not worry about that again, I'll get the point.

11225 h and v astra 2g europe strong

11265 v and h astra 2g europe strong

11388 h quite weak but eutelsat 28a (aligned for 28.2e)

11390 v stronger, slightly weaker than 2g europe

11425 v quite weak

11464 h, 11478 v, incredibly strong, showing 98% on technomate tm-5402

11585 H, seems to be copy of 11464 H, signal slightly weaker but locks fine, Astra 2F Europe

11603 V, 11661 H and 11680 V, KOS claims this is UK beam but signal is same as 11585, so assume its 2F europe

11719 H, 11757 H, 11778 V, 11798 H, 11817 V, 11836 H, 11856V, 11876 H, 11895 V, 11914 H, 11934 V, 11954 H, 11991 H, 12011 V, 12050 V, 12069 H, 12089 V all of these are lockable but signal is pretty low. Leaves around 1dB for rain fade margin. All Astra 2E Europe

11973 V is Astra 2E Europe, NOT 2G as KOS states

12108 H (sky sports tp), 12148 H, KOS claims is Astra 2E Europe but I can’t lock it here (could before changes)

12167 V, 1225 H, 12245 V, 12284 V, 12323 V, 12342 H, 12362 V, 12381 H, 12459 H, 12479 V isn’t lockable. Signal is there but it’s too low to get a steady lock. Assuming these are all 2F Europe

Thanks for that, this is helpful.

11464 h, 11478 v from your report would suggest 2G Europe.

Do you get 11.509V 22.0 5/6 DVB-S? This is also on 2G but might be UK spot if you can't get it.

11585 H is still on E28A but will switch to 2G soon.

11603 V, 11661 H and 11680 V are also still on E28A. They will switch over to 2G soon.

12108 H switched to a smaller FEC a while ago, maybe this is why you can't get this transponder any more if it was only just within lock before? It now needs a few extra db to receive along with a number of other Sky owned transponders.

Anyone know when the rest will change to 2G? Waiting to update one receiver currently using the mono AM radio feed from 4.8e for a stereo one on 28e but unlockable unless on 2G

That will be Absolute Radio I guess! D12 will be off air by later this morning, the new replacement on TP 104 should be live by tomorrow morning so not long to wait.
