Here are the latest footprints of the this new satellite, Eutelsat 33e.

Damn, the footprints have changed, and are nowhere close to India now. :-buttkick:-ohcrap

That is the same footprint for when it launched as Hotbird 10 @ 13 east

Later moved to 7 west as Atlantic Bird 4A then moved to 3.1 east as Eutelsat 3C,
Then moved back to 13 east as Hotbird 13D then Eutelsat realised that they had too many transponders @ 13 east 192 when they only needed 97 active + backup so they moved Hotbird 13D to 33.1 east & called it Eutelsat 33E waste of a 64 Tp satellite unless they have plans to open up this position for more TV ?

Eutelsat still has 2 x 64 Ku band transponder satellites @ 13 east with only 2 @ 80% capacity 13B has 53 active with 11 spare,
Hotbird 13C has 46 active transponders with 18 spare,
Hotbird 13E has 38 Ku Band transponders with currently 3 active transponders previously called Eutelsat 9A this would be better suited to 33.1 east or maybe Eutelsat plan on moving Eutelsat 7A to 33.1 east ?? after the launch of Eutelsat 7C.

Whatever they decide to do it will not help you to receive 33.1 east in India.

So basically, what you are saying is that all permutations and combinations, are being done to keep HOTBIRD's capacity in check.
All other satellites are just filler ins, for H13E !!

Too bad, I was waiting for this bird, 33E to be operational, from months.... only to have all my hopes shattered !! :(

Dont give up hope yet - odd things can happen. I got reception from 25.5E Eutelsat 25A a few years ago on a few occasions - and I was about 2000 miles north of the supposed northern edge of the footprint!

There was also the fictional "MBC beam" on 26E. Supposedly restricting reception to the MENA area I could get it near Edinburgh on an 80 cm dish :D

Strange things can happen in the sat world. Likewise, I am receiving Yamal 402 @ 55e Russian beam, here in delhi on 120cm.... I m miles away from the last contour of the footprints ! :-wow

Don't let the flat-earthers know that :-rofl2
