Whats the acceptance angle of a sky zone 2 dish? Im thinking one mounted with the long axis vertical instead of horizontal and set up with the V&H reversed might hold the signal longer?

No, that makes things worse! If you want reception to last longer, point the dish towards the highest or lowest elevation "turning point".

Unless summat interesting turns up is not worth spending much time on it - there is the old "over under shotgun lnb" arrangement as a possibility too

Breaking up for me on my 1m dish - signal is all over the place despite it being not too far off the Clarke Belt at the moment.

11840V 27500 7/8 reported on air carrying the same output as 11919V. Shes outside my lnb reception zone atm so no looking for me till tomorrow.....
