1.Very strong signal in my area on 11480 H,3215,3/4,8PSK, over 21dB.
2.Indeed 11590 H is for Data, but in fact it is a stream with media content.

Interesting, any idea what the stream is?

This used to be the transponder used for the DVB-S SD France Télévisions channels, before they went HD and got moved to multistream.

RAI already announced, that they would consider an encryption of their MIS-packages. Now we know, that other providers consider it too. <_<
MIS-packages are Mediaset not RAI as far as I know.

Hi guys! Some news from Oslo in Norway. I get all the transponders from E5WB after changing to a 120x115 dish. Margin is not huge but at least I get them. I can give details and pictures if of interest, just ask! :-)

This is a nice surprise. Reports from Poland suggest, that one would need at least 100-120 cm in the middle of the country for reception and you are further away from the official footprint.

Indeed, don't forget though, that most probably, this is due to the angle at which the beam is reaching France/Italy, making its "extension" reach far up north like where I am. In french forums, people from Portugal are extremely annoyed of not receiving E5WB and they are really close to the footprint but in their case, I would assume that the "beam" is almost perpendicular to the surface so not "escaping" from the limits. I don't know if that's understandable and I have not made any advanced calculations but it sounds logical...

Satellite transmission footprints are not geometric and often contain envelopes of reception outside the theoretical footprint

Yes, it's like pointing with a flashlight at a globe.

I can't identify whose stream it is? lt's active now.
On the other hand,it seems that now the French will use this E5WB even more for their feeds.I've found feeds like this in the last few days.

I just checked 12627 H now and found both MIS(all tv) are active(encoded)! I must add that the signal is dropping in the evening. Those who are at the edge of the spot or have smaller antennas may have problems with locking the signal.Need a sensitive tuner.

Now 5WB is in service I shall temporarily close this thread for a few minutes at some point this evening over the weekend whilst I split the recent reception reports into a more suitable section & close the launch thread.

Those channels on 12627H are Mediaset Premium/Sky ones anyway - they’re encrypted on the terrestrial network so that’s why they’re encrypted on the multistream.

If you had the card for the terrestrial network in Italy you could use it on these transmissions in exactly the same way as people watching it via DVB-T.

The only way they could encrypt the multistreams feasibly without having to have a lot more equipment at the transmission sites would be to encapsulate and encrypt the entire stream, like the Spanish channels on 30°W or the Ukrainian T2-MI services on 4.8°E (the whole T2-MI PID is encrypted).
