According to a document published by ATK , It's confirmed that there will no be any C Band Tps ; but only 35 active Ku band Tps ; & the footprint is somewhat confined to Europe and North Africa with a dedicated Algerian beam ...

Bad, bad, really bad news! But it's kinda to be expected. With more receivers coming up able to receive the multistreams that are full of FTA content you are not supposed to receive outside the specific country, they rely on spot beams to restrict the coverage within these respective limits! I'm gonna miss my multistreams dearly!!! :(

I did look at the maps awhile back & the spot beams for EUTELSAT 5 West B
are similar to 9B @ 9 east so it will be goodbye to a lot of the Multi-Streams but we still have 12 months & a lot can happen in that time.

As Ive said before the only way forward for most satellite slots is spot beams. Its a simple way of increasing capacity for the operators. Us hobbyists might not like it but its going to keep on happening at more and more slots...

On the 6th of August, 2003 ; I had installed my 1st satellite reception system; it was composed of 165 cm dish ; strong srt 4620 Receiver & strong LNB , before 2003 ; satellite systems were prohibited in Iraq.
At that time I was really happy with that system; at the beginning I was able to receive signals and channels from 30 orbital spots ; and I even managed to increase that to 38 spots ;
I used to enjoy fringe reception; even from satellites not designed to cover the middle east,
Now ; things have been changed;
I am struggling to get E7WA & E8WB Tps

We'll see :oops:
I wonder how sharp the signal drops along the fringe of the FR/IT footprint areas which are basically only the respective country's borders... I'm 100 km from France and > 250 km from Italy. Should see some signal... will report once the sat is up there. They shouldn't be able to do frequency reuse for FR/IT channels anyway since they share a border.

The Italian footprint from Eutelsat 9B @ 9 east is a guide of what we can expect from Eutelsat 5 West B.

Looking at Eutelsat 9B on Flysat it shows (as you say ) various beams. Wide , Italy and Greece. All of which are giving good results here in the UK.
Not sure if the new satellite at 5West B will try to re use frequencies.
There is some Multistream on 9B 12341V 31400 5/6 which for some reason shows no signal. That does show as Italy....However the other transponders marked as Greece give a big signal. Which is further away than Italy if my geography is correct?!

Yes, but the 'Extended Greece' beam seems to have 51 dBW over Britain while the Italy beam as posted by william-1 has a relatively sharp drop towards N/NW.

I just wonder how precisely these beams can be formed technically . The Ka-Sat 9A Beam in Ka-Band seems to be extremely limited to Ireland. Is something like that possible in Ku-Band, too? I just can't believe 9B would have beams following the borders of France or Italy more or less precisely.

Ka band is a different kettle of fish. Much tighter beams owing to higher frequencies in use. Ku can be pretty tight as well but not to the extent of Ka.

12341V is on Italy beam, I am not getting a lock o my Mutant but need to check on my TBS card to see if any signal at all is visible. Nordic beam isn't strong either - getting 7dB but no lock due to TP parameters.
