eutelsat 70b 70e

That is strange, 11294 H up to 5 dB now, and not a single hint (0.0 dB ) of 12673 H 1447.
Feedsat have you actually seen this one coming from 70.5°E, so not from 72.1° for example?
Then again, maybe my dish is too small and the signal is drowned in 68.5°E interference.

I will check this by myself later, it's pool time now;). But a french friend has already reported it for 70.5°E.
 
Martin-f, as you see it's pretty amazing you caught that Dewan signal.
I suspect with certain weather conditions, a low elevation can be an advantage!
During a few evenings, I noted 11294 H climbing to record values (7 dB or so), however followed thereafter by long fade-outs lasting up to a minute. Some inversion/focussing effects I guess.
Weather effects must be much stronger at your location further West, of course.

First thought there could only one beam be involved: Wide (at the left) as used for 11294 H.
But there's another I forgot about (Europe, at the right). Could that be in use for 12673 H?
That would explain the disappointing signals at Feedsat and Marval a bit.
And here in NL, well, it's just a little Visiosat bisat dish...

@hvdh : how many dB you have on the DATA frequency 12696 H with 1.20m ? to compare the reception signal .

Sorry Feedsat, the Laminas can't see 70.5°E any more: tree growth!
Only the bisat can see 70.5°E, because it's mounted one storey higher.

Well I am more confused now hvdh, but that's not hard for me lol, looking at any of the footprints I should be the last in the Q for a signal, certainly very strange.

Hmm that beam looks like an old satellite that was up there (W5?). Besides, it doesn't even reach Sri Lanka whereas the one earlier on does.

No Alex, its the current beam from 72E, its strange why other peeps are struggling, but it looks like its from 70.5E as mentioned, I think I would get it better but the dish is obscured slightly by the roof.

Ah ok. Well, I could get it on my 85cm Penta dish when stuff was on European beam but it was even more temperamental than 70.5e.

I am sure you will put things in place in your new home pal :), I will be repositioning my 1.2 (again) at some point myself now ive got my bearings, I will now install it here, I can hit the gap better and keep the dish lower :).

just thought if you position the dish there martin when you put the 1.8 up you could be blocked on some sats as it comes round ???
