Eutelsat 7B finishes at 7°E The change is related to the transfer of the Eutelsat 7B satellite to position 16°E. The operation is planned for the end of August 2026. Currently, DTH transmissions in the African beam and transmissions in the Europe A/Europe B beams are to be transferred to other capacities.

A check carried out yesterday morning revealed Eutelsat 7B at approximately 7,1°E. Furthermore, the high-band beacon, frequency 12500,50 H, was turned off. Only the telemetry signals, frequency 11201,40 H and 11698,60 H, remained active.

From the check I just performed, I detected Eutelsat 7B at approximately 7,5°E. It appears to have begun its eastward shift...

so,the 7E content is transferred to 16E,right? and this should happen....tomorrow??? really?

All services that were on Eutelsat 7B have been transferred to Eutelsat 7C since July.

Explains why the BBC went back to 16e I guess if 7B is moving... Though why they moved to 7e in the first place just to move back is unknown.

what BBC can we get on 16E? just bbc world or else??

It is now at about 8,2°E. It is moving eastward at about 0,6° per day.

The TLE data is correct. This morning I checked it when it reached 10°E, and it was in exactly the same position as Eutelsat 10B. However, I had a bit of difficulty doing this check because the primary telemetry (frequency 11201,40 H) was heavily interfered with by a signal from Eutelsat 10B. I had to deactivate the AGC to make it more visible. Furthermore, the secondary telemetry (11698,60 H) has been off for about two days. To avoid interfering with Eutelsat 10B primary telemetry, they use the same frequency.

According to the TLE data, it should reach 16°E on September 12th.

I believe it will replace Eutelsat 16A. According to Eutelsat's June 2023 estimate, Eutelsat 16A (formerly W3C) is indicated to be in stable orbit until 2027, while Eutelsat 7B (formerly W3D) is indicated to be in stable orbit until 2039.
