Eutelsat Hot Bird 13G

sameting funny eutelsat tv channel 13g not replace yet

Its the weekend - whichever junior is assigned the task of updating that information probably isnt working. Its hardly a high priority job updating that part of the Eute site anyway - its only an indicator as to where you can find any particular channel for none enthusiasts who dont know about hobby sites like KingofSat & their excellent searcg engine

BTW new electric satellites are disappointed as of now,not based on my experience but user's in coverage area's also complaining that signal's has been decreased from previously nearly dead satellite

11 other frequency's have been switched to 13G:

10723 H
11075 V
11432 V
11488 H
11508 V
11642 H
11804 V
11823 H
11919 V
12303 V
12418 V

The ONLY difference between chemical & electric satellites is that ion thrusters are used for the station keeping thrusters on the "electric satellites" These are smaller & lighter than chemical thrusters so the overall payload is lighter, or more payload can be carried for a given amount of thrust production.

The reason you are seeing decreased coverage is simply because of the advances made in beam shaping technology. Plus some of the new satellites can have their beams electronically adjusted whilst in service if the operator finds the coverage area is too large or too small, or the satellite needs to be moved to a new orbital slot!

Thanks. There is also some other thing mentioned sometimes when there are concerts or such: Musicvision. No that' s not the word I think but sth like that.
I wonder if my receiver acknowledges all the new fancy audio available..
Audio 1: Musical. That is on the program on Arte after 7 minutes : Jordi Savall directs Requem by Mozart.
I guess "musical" is just the plain sound without any specific language. Nothing more to it.
My TV says Arte sound is "Dolby Digital 2.0".

If this is the case, then it is a very encouraging and useful piece of insight considering the concerns brought about by hotbird 13g. We looking forward to the satellite beam widened soonest. Thank you.

10775 H and 11315 V has been reactivated in DVB-S2X SR 31423
What is DVB-S2X ? I hope older receivers can pick it up.

"Because of a lack of backwards compatibility with existing DVB-S2 decoders, Belgian company Newtec has developed the 'DVB-S2plus/Extensions' technology, which tries to reconcile the benefits of the DVB-S2X with compatibility to existing systems."

So maybe Newtec the Belgian is at work on 10775H and 11315V...

Nope. Old receivers cant get it.
OK.
I do not know why this article says it is compatible and then later says it is not compatible.
"DVB-S2X is backward compatible to DVB-S2 mode."
"The DVB-S2X standard retains DVB-S2 main architecture with some changes. This makes it non-backward compatible with DVB-S2 standard."
Maybe another fellow wrote the introduction to the article.

Id imagine the explanation is as simple as the non technical copy writer got it wrong

DVB-2X kit will work with DVB-S2

DVB-2 kit will NOT work with DVB-S2X

I guess it´s right in the article that DVB-S2 deployed millions of DVB-S receivers.
This one was in use here, Theaera. Well built equipment.

Yes DVB-S2X works fine with DVB-S2 of course. Have it in both my VU+ DUO 4K SE and the Octagon SF8008.
DVB-S2X does also mean the recevier can cope with Multistream transmissions.

Completely disagree. I've had two of these exact receiever and both of them ended up with the sound chip going faulty and adding a loud buzz over everything, as well as RGB scart output just not working entirely.

I was luckier with a copy. Was at work 24/7 (so to speak) for years without failure.
Was stated in some manual that it was rebrand of a certain Fortec Star receiver.
