It would help if you can take few minutes to update your profile:
Location
Which Satellites
Fixed or motorised
FTA channels or encrypted
Are you on CS

Which image ?

Have you tried reflashing ?

im using image : Gemini 4.4.0

I didnt reflash , as i dunt have the RS-232 Cable
However im able to connect to the box via my Ethernet Cable and access the Linux Shell .

Also Tux Commander is working perfectly ,

Any help ?

I'm using Gemini 4.4.0

No i did not re-flash as i only have ethernet cable , and i am not even able to go with FTP , ..its not working ! , i am only able to telnet / http

The Picture problem is that i can see alot of scanning lines while i am watching anything either FTA / Encryp , ..what ever being watched on the Box , even from my PC , when i watch AVI its the same , alot of scanning lines are obvious ,

What makes you convinced that it is a dreambox problem, it could be interference from some nearby equipment, that is affecting either the signal from lnb to stb or stb to monitor/TV...

Gemini and clone 500S is not a good combination and supposed to kill the receiver.
I am assuming that the box came already with Gemini, as you say you didn't flash it.

well i've no equipments nearby the tv...,
Please note that i did try to play AVI movie from my PC to my Dreambox but the picture problem is still the same.....

Have you checked the scart cable is connected to the Dreambox and TV correctly?

Have you selected the correct color format in your AV settings:

setup > system settings > AV settings

As mentioned I think you need to be looking at the connection to your TV. change the scart lead, or try a composite cable instead. Are you saying you get the problem even when streaming to your pc ? If this is so then the issue could be with your lnb or cable.

If you can rule this out, then its pretty certain the box is goosed !
A top priority for me would be to flash the box with nabilo image and start again.

One last thing, if you bought the box from the guy that provides your CS, then its highly likely he has disabled your FTP access to stop you looking at the CS info. This is common place is the middle east, north africa and parts of europe.

I am using a Red-White-Yellow Composite Cable to connect to my TV , and it had been like that since i bought the box 1 month ago , the picture was fine and suddenly this happens , !! , i did re-check all cables and all are in place .
I mentioned that i stream from my PC to the BOX ( Not the Opposite ) i stream AVI Movies on the PC to the TV through the box . ,
Can u please give me a deep idea about the Nabilo Image ?? and if i can install it without the FTP access? ,

Please note that i have HTTP & TELNET Access . FTP is not working and i have no clue why !!! it says incorrect username / password , i think there is a trick to enable the HTTP/Telnet and disable only FTP !!

Have you tried other video formats like *.mpg or *.vob ?
*.avi can be problematic sometimes.
You can see all the subfolders if you install tuxCommander from Gemini server and then you can open all the files (well, text, config, etc.)
