Excuse my ignorance- I want to put a TV in my new bedroom (we had an extension done and chucked the old aerial in the skip); can I just put a T-piece in the cable near the dish, and have an extra Freesat box in the bedroom?

Thanks, Andy

No - you need to change the lnb for a quad output and run a new length of cable from the dish to the new location

no mate the sat box sends a 13/18 volt charge to the LNb, so digi signal can,t split

I should have known it wouldn't be straight forward!

Thanks anyway...

How easy is it to replace the LNB? Would it have to be realigned afterwards?

1) Dead easy IF you have completely safe access to it

2) If you are careful no. The dish elevation may need to be nudged up a fraction to compensate for the extra weight of the lnb & cable.

Pull out or snip off the small plastic peg that holds the LNB in place, unscrew the F-connector and slide out the LNB.
If it is stiff, don't pull too hard and fall off the ladder!

Slide the new Sky quad LNB in (get from ebay for about a tenner),new peg in, connect up and you're done.

Adjust the LNB skew so that is is the same as it was before.

There may need to be slight adjustements, but you can check what the signal is like on the receiver.

Sounds easy enough, maybe I'll have a go. Many thanks for the help!
