F15 tuner sensitivity

It plays here in my F15, some hiccups and no audio at first, but after 8-10 seconds it is ok. Check the video here (download it, I uploaded it in my dropbox account)

Looks like there are definate issues then Strs ...and possibly these issues are the reason the F15 cannot start the audio on a live stream..
Until I can find someone who can receive this live stream and play it live on an F15 ..I remain in Limbo ..not knowing if its just my box ...or indeed ALL F15s.
cheers m8

Πολύ ωραία Viper! (just put a "το" "the", after Αγαπώ) ;)

ευχαριστίες που είναι δροσερό
;)

Ok, this is definitely off topic, anyways! :D

"Δροσερό" is cool like "a cool beer", or "cool weather". You may use instead (among others) the word "φινο", or just "κουλ" "cool" (the latter is mostly slang)! :)

Spent many happy holidays in various parts of Greece Strs ..
Both the Islands and the mainland ..
Fell in love with Corfu over 30 years ago ..before it became populated by 'P1ssheads living it large' etc in Ypsos and the like.
I used to hang around bars and pick up words ..and write them down Phonetically in a note book ...
so I can speak the words I need and even pick occasional words out of conversation ..if its slow enough.
for example I would write EFARISTO PARAKALO..

or in a shop ..MEPO SECKETE (with a french accent over the last E ) AVGRA...
or ENA BOOKALLE NEROP

You get the Idea..

Don't think so, I know people (mainly german) that visit Greece every year for several years, and don't speak a word greek (or at least they pretend they don't speak!) :D

Btw, when you say "MEPO SECKETE" do you mean "do you have?". It's "Μήπως έχετε;"

Thanks Strs ..I enjoyed that brief trip down memory lane ..
And finish by saying ...
Yes I remember my first sip of Metaxa and Coke ...
it was a tripple measure ..and believe it or not was just 35 Δραχμή..
How times do change.
;)

My Hovercraft is full of Eels.

Or "lost in translation"! :D

Yep ..thats my version of how to ask the shopkeep if he had any eggs ?

It served me well for other comestibles ...including Feta ....mmmmm Feta with Kalamata black olives ..
Cheers for the correct way ..btw

Just a thought - the HD15 has an ethernet port doesnt it? Can you stream the signal across a lan and use VLC player on a pc?

I can decode DVB-S HD channels from my Standard def 7020 by doing that. It only runs at 2fps but its good enough for forum screengrabs :D

Nice idea, but it is not possible, F15 does not stream live content...

Yes, eventually it renders that, but I didn't figure it out at first though! :D

Hi VS,

Just to confirm also tried you latest file on my F15 running 122p firmware, No audio till around 5 seconds in then its fine but drops out twice very quickly before the clip ends.

Regards.

I can not find an online retailer selling f15
so I like to buy SKY DRX595 which got the same quality tuner to use as a dxer box with 28.2 E and 7 W satellites

would anyone experienced user confirm that I can use SKY DRX595 as a ordinary HD box - no limitations that Is a sky box
- can I watch free Sky channels without subscription card
- can I scan other satellites

Sky Boxes are very limited in many ways:

Limited number of permitted Symbol Rates

Limited range of FEC (9/10 seems not to be available)

No DiSEqC control

Use on other Satellites is possible subject to the above restrictions, but is not user friendly and requires delving deep into the Menus to find Manual Tune features and subsequently to retrieve them for Viewing.

Free to Air Channels from 28.2/28.5E do not require any form of Card. Such Channels are also available on generic Boxes and Freesat Boxes, so cannot properly be described as Free Sky Channels!

In my humble opinion, you would be better advised to look again for a supplier of F15s or to find another non-Platform Receiver >>>> How about the newer D15, available from one of our Forum Sponsors?

http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/topic/157864-introducing-drhd-d15-hd-satellite-receiver-with-media-player-epg-lan-pvr-wifi-support/

I agree, do not buy a SKY DRX595 if you want to use it on other satellites. It is only good for 28.2E. Like all Sky UK boxes, you are limited to tuning in to SR of 22000 or 27500 and a FEC of 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8. Only DVB-S channels can be tuned in. Not DVB-S2. You also have to go through a lot of key presses to get to the manually tuned in channels.

thank you for your reply guys
I see positive Impressions from Dr HD F15 and not newer D15 which seems a limited version from F15 ( no scart , component out ) - not sure that tuner Is same like F15 and also there Is analyser

It might be worth looking at the Technomate TM-5402 HD, it's very similar to the F15 but I don't think it has the spectrum analyser. I've not compared the two though so not sure how similar the tuners are.

Support for this excellent box ..has damned near dried up ...except in Russian amateur circles.
So when was the last patched firmware released? Maybe there is no need for frequent updates?

i wanted to see what the HD Gui firmware looked like from the Patched Russian forum so i flashed the latest HD Gui firmware which was 122p.
Is official GUI just SD and the Russian GUI HD?

And one additional thing. Does F15 have Sky EPG for the whole week? Or just NOW and NEXT?
