F15 tuner sensitivity

Yes, now it works! No sound at first, but after 4-5 seconds sound works too (both versions work the same here)...
 
Sorry I can't help testing it as my box is in Finland and I'm not going to be there for a while.

So ...not quite the same result as I'm getting ..but then we are using different firmwares ..
But it proves the Hardware can decode the audio ..just refuses to on a live stream.
Do you have a Cband setup over there in Greece ..and can you access this mux on 55 West Strs ?
I'd be curious if you get sound on a live stream..

Sorry VS, First one refuses to play and flicks straight back to the file menu. The sub folder one locks the box up requiring a re-boot.

And yet another variation then Pete ..
Strs can resolve sound on both ..and you can't even view video on either..
There _must_ be an answer ...but then you are using a P version ...presumably patched firmware.
The mystery deepens.

Sorry, no in both questions. No C-band and my setup goes up to 45W.

but then you are using a P version ...presumably patched firmware.

I'm using a P version too, 1.22p. The problem is certainly in the firmware. The media player works differently in every version of the firmware I tried so far!

No probs buddy ...just figured it worth an ask..
But ..fwiw ..I do believe this to be fixable now ...a tweaked firmware would do it ..but who is still working on this box ..
Hands up anyone who knows ???

I do hope this email finds its way to someone who can help ..
I have long been a fan of DrDish since the days when there was a satellite broadcast directed at English speaking Enthusiasts..
I have even had questions answered in the show in the past.
About a year ago I purchased an F15 satellite reciever based on the close ascociations with DrDish ..and thinking it would be an excellent choice in view of those connections.
I have not been dissappointed as it is certainly has the highest gain tuner of any receiver I have ever owned ..and I am a keen DXer so this is the most important aspect of consideration when buying a set top box.
I have sung the F15s praises on every forum I belong to...and am a member on the supposedly official DrHD forum as well ..
This Forum appears no longer supported ..and thus the F15 appears abandonded as well .
I have an issue which I cannot resolve ...and have no way to find out if its possible to be resolved with a firmware update which these days are very few if any.
Quite simply there is an incompatibility issue with some but not all forms of AAC audio content ..
For Example the Jamaican mux on Intelsat 805 @ 55.5 west (Cband) as just one example ..

Jamaican mux
DVB-S 2220-7/8


Tv Congo on 5west is another (Cband)

The picture resolves perfectly ...but there is NO audio

This problem only affects some variants of AAC audio ..not all are affected..

I'm sure it could be resolved in firmware but who to ask..

Can you help point me in the right direction ?

Has the F15 and F16 been abandoned ?
If so ..its a great pity ..as for me this was the most inovative of satellite products I had seen in many years.

It appears that way Pete ..but did you actually try downloading anything pre 107 ..
If like me you just get 'Page Not Found' then you know why I settled for 107

Yes, quite right I didn't try a download and no it doesn't work for anything earlier than 1.07........damn, back to the drawing board.....

Had a nice surprise yesterday my F15 arrived so spent most of the evening having a play, It came pre-installed with the january 125 firmware i did not try your clip on the 125 firmware as i wanted to see what the HD Gui firmware looked like from the Patched Russian forum so i flashed the latest HD Gui firmware which was 122p. So i tried your Clip you posted and the results are the same as strs65 there is sound after 4 seconds but the clip only lasts 8 seconds so at least it works on 122p firmware.

Saw the clip played on your F15 ..
It sortof tells me 3 of us can get audio when playing back that clip from the 'records' file ..though I still have a little trouble ..but the question remains ..can it play back live stream audio from this mux ?
Put simply IF it is just MY box that has problems ...I'd find the money and buy another F15 rather than try and get this fixed (an almost impossible task now)..thats how much it means to me to have a fully functional F15.

If I upload the other clip I tried first ...with the extra bits that were missing ..
Would you kindly try playing that one back ?
As this clip produces no Audio at all when played back on my box ..so perhaps more informative..

This one doesn't even give me brief audio ..but plays back just fine when the .tps file is given to dvbviewer.
Gotta rush I'm late opening the shop

Nothing doing on mine VS, it went straight back to the file list when I tried to play it and then locked the box up.....(just a thought but surely there's more than the handful of DrHD users in the UK than us on here. I'm assuming you've tried other forums?)

It plays here in my F15, some hiccups and no audio at first, but after 8-10 seconds it is ok. Check the video here (download it, I uploaded it in my dropbox account)

Hi Pete ..
I have browsed on other Forums ..but in truth ..
This receiver is a bit of an oddity ..insofar as ..it really a Dxers toy ...it dont run enigma CS and have bells an whistles ..so takeup was largely by word of mouth and somewhat niche..
Other forums are often less than helpful ..bing full of folk quite happy to flame someone searching for answers ..rather than actually be helpful.
Its why I love our forum so much..
Its helpful ..and civilised compared to the majority of 'alternative' forums.
I suspect the best in depth info to be found on the F15 would be the Russian and Eastern block forums..
They do appear to be very knowledgeable ...but my polyglotism extends only to a smattering of French...and a few dozen Greek words.
