Those reports are just to show how much they are 'committed' to fight hate speech, violence, propaganda, etc. Facebook is adapting quickly and moving their business focus to WhatsApp/more private services, they know people are moving there because is practically impossible to moderate content (end-to-end encryption). So, they just say to the world leaders they will obey to possible new regulations to stop hate speech, propaganda, blah blaah blah They might not show it or say it, but they know FB public parts ('news feed') turned into a pile of sh*t, they just don't care about legislation anymore. Most people will blindly think this is a great achievement, 'how can a murder be streamed live on FB' they say, but in the end it will actually mean nothing and change very little, users will dislike 'censorship' and move to something more 'private', encrypted, little groups (whatsapp style) of people that are connected in between and can disseminate information (fake, hateful or not) very rapidly. And how do you legislate/moderate that? Take out cryptography? Ban it? Might as well ban the entire internet! Shut it down, shut it all down! :-doh Failure of imagination
