An office clearout looming and in the corner is a rather large Brother Fax machine (2900 series)

It was used up until the point the landline was removed a decade ago (more for copying than phone as we had toner lying around. )

Is the technology inside useful for anything else, is a fully functional fax machine worth hanging onto or is faxing now fully in the past ?
 
If it's a plain paper machine, and you still have toner for it, then I would continue to use it for the odd photocopying job. I don't know if it's set up as such but you could probably use use it as a B/W printer, maybe even as a network printer.

Thanks. The main office printer is a Samsung All in One thing. B/W only and I think I have replaced the toner cartridge once in ten years (one that came with it). In my time I don't think I have sent a fax despite it having the ability.

I will check the DPI and connecting interfaces but it looks like the early generation of laser printer/scanners may have made this redundant, apart from making a direct call on a landline but the Samsung might do that as well.

Apologies for missing your hospital thread in the past few days, like Rolf I have an address change going on, but nowhere near as far.
 
I just scan to a PDF file and email it, I dropped all telco land lines years ago and went to digital phone service,( price dropped from $80 a line to $20 US) the old fax machine didn't like the new service.
