Finding 16 degrees east

My Satellite Setup
Virgin V+HD XL Technomate 6800 Astra+Hotbird FTA on 60 cm dish
My Location
Cheshire
Hi,
I can get my dish lined up onto 13,19.2 and 28.2 degrees east but simply cannot get a signal on 16 any ideas on what i should be doing to move from 19.2 to 16 east ?

According to your profile your dish is a sky digital so if that is the case yes I would have thought you will struggle especially in cloudy or inclement weather.

Its a 60cm Zone 2 dish im using in the back yard on a temp mount, I also have a Zone 1 on the house for Astra 2 and a rusty old amstrad dish for Astra 1. Do you think i need an 80 cm then ? It has been a bit couldy and wet where today.

From reading previous posts it would seem that 90cm is the minimum requirement
 
An 80cm will do fine. I have used numerous triax 78cm dishes for the Digitalb package on 16 east without any problems rain or shine.
 
Think i shall give up on finding this sat then and stick to the other three :(
 
When you are looking make sure you are tuned to one of the high symbol rate Bulgarian frequencies. They are as strong as anything on W2.
 
Yeah, try Alsat RTV on Freq - 10957 symbol - 2821 H 2/3, seems to be one of the strongest on W2
 
I shall give that a try, Ive been looking for Hispasat today with no luck again

When you are searching for hard to find satellites, avoid the low symbol rates, ideally use one with a symbol rate of 22,000 or higher, as it is normally easier to find, also make sure that it is on a beam that you can see.
 
Been out in the yard today and cannot find anything other than 13,19.2 and 28.2 im not really intrested in any of those as i alredy have Sky digital and an old analogue system. Really want 16east and 30 west as ive herd there is some good stuff on them. Ive even tried moving my dish around just incase there is any blockages. Ive got a sat beeper and it goes mad when im arou nd the three i can find without the beeper but when i go West i get nothing except the same tone.
Starting to get fed up with all this i really am.

Depending where you are in the UK, from my experience , you will get differing results looking for 16e. I have a triax 78 (80cm) dish, on a motek motor , I get a good arc of satellites except 16e ! in the northwest UK. If you really want it then go for the 1m dish ...
 
One of the strongest signals, and FTA, on 16E, is M2 11304 V 30000. There is also a very strong signal from 11449 H 27500, but these channels are scrambled. With a Triax 78cm dish you should get a signal from these frequencies but really you need a 90cm or better a 1.1M, in the North West, for some of the channels, on 16E, especially Fox Sports.
 
A good wy to find Hispasat at 30W is to line your dish up to 28.2E, then swing it round 60 degrees so you have the elevation sorted already, then set the skew of the LNB so that looking from the front of the dish it is at 4-5 o'clock (takes some fine tuning to get the best quality) and you're sorted. I have my only working dish permenantly on Hispa, but my cat keeps swinging off it (as it's an indoor dish) and I have to keep repositioning it so finding Hispa becomes as easy as pie... :D
 
Thanks for the info mate thats just what i needed i can get 28.2 quite easily not using the satbeeper just the signal bars on my Lemon 020FTA Thing is if i swing round 60 degrees im facing the back of thye house and i fear this may block the signal.
Not going to put the dish on the front of the house as it is imposable due to wood cladding.
Shall be out in my back yard 2moz evening now.

Tried it again and no luck using my crap sat beeper and even worse Lemon FTA box. Ive been thinking though and the the three sats i can pull in are preprogrammed into the box and when searching the signal bars are white then go yellow if i get locked onto the sat,When i try to get a forth satellite like hotbird the signal bars go grey and some times are up and down is this a problem with the box ?
Ive had enough anyway time to find a different hobby.

Don't give up that easily we will not let you. You must have another try but this time wait for some optimum conditions, i.e. clear blue sky, no wind and learn more about your stb and how to scan for channels before throwing any towel in.
 
Im going to give it a go some day,though it was tempting to put a 500v Megger accross my Lemon box, Used to have a Telestar Diginova but i only ever got 13,19 and 28.2 on that because of a grat big tree in the way of the western sats.
Sold that box in the end as i was in a rented house and didnt use my dish.

What symbol rate limitations are there on the Lemon receiver ?
