When i do fine tuning, how can i save the new position. The problem is that i fein tune, but then when i change the sat position, eg from hotbird 13 to astra 19. the setting is lost.
 
For example i do fine tuning on sky sports italia 24 and from 84% i get the signal to 95%. Then i change channel on sky germany. When i turn back to Skysports 24 the signal is back to 84%
 
Depends.

If you are using USALS and still need to fine tune, then the alignment is probably a little bit out.

You can overcome that for small discrepancies by altering the USALS Longitude a couple of tenths (which way, you'll need to find out by experiment) - that will then affect all Satellite positions equally and should not need constant tweaking.

If the misalignment is more than a degree or so, a physical realign would be best.

If using stored DiSEqC poistions, as opposed to using USALS, is their a "recalculate" function in the DM800? If so, fine tuning one position then selecting recalculate should sort it.

But again, you may need to go back to basics and correct the root cause ......................

Finally, don't get hung up on precise readings unless there is a specific problem like pixellation or loss of lock. ie "If it ain't broke ......................."
 
hello,
there is no fine tuning on digital receivers.
it does itself. if you are on the correct frequency it will lock on to the center frequency.
usualy if you are 2 meghz on the center plus and minus 2 mhz it will lock.
having a slightly higher signal will not give you a better signal.
you moved the frequency up or down the lobe of the frequency had a higher lobe and gave you a higher level. then it locked back to the proper frequency.

Ralph, he is talking about fine tuning the motor position, I believe - looking at the context.
 
Well various "strongest Transponder" lists have been produced over the years, but mainly for UK.

Where you are is a totally different kettle of cheese.
 
I believe, from another Thread, that the problem is now resolved.
