Hi all,
Does anyone have news on the FS2 meter and when it will be available.

For years now I have had the FS1 and very happy, the FS2 is a natural progression, and is DVB-S2 compatible.

Any ideas when it will be released for sale and where? The webiste isnt giving anythig away

Paul.

Hi,
for the moment and since end of november 2011 the hardware production seems to have started. But only for the FS2-Lite model. And only with DVB-S and other features like DiSEqC capabilities. Probably a DVB-S2 in a near future. Wait and see !

news are here : ---_http://firststrikemeters.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Regards

Thanks, yes found that post via goooogle. We wait and see, would love to upgrade my FS1 for the FS2, but might as well wait for the ProHD version, as the FS1 does everything i need for now.

Anyone with any inside info on the FS2-Lite launch and availability?

First Strike's web-site and blog have been pretty quiet since the hint that hardware production has begun - that was last November.
No formal and complete specs for the FS2-Lite on the web-site either.

Personally I'm still hanging on as I wanted a decent meter at around the FS1 price-point with DiSEqC, and I still can't see any other real alternatives, but I'm wondering how long a wait I might be in for...

Still not much info about that I can find although, interestingly, a new First Strike blog posting includes a picture at a trade show with the new meters on posters in the background:

_http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Kciw9Y8cGfw/T4X0ZhLXsGI/AAAAAAAAAEs/YUcdfXQ-gLA/s1600/ccbn+2012+012.jpg

Pictured with brief specs are the FS2-Lite and FS2-ProHD together with an FS3-D and an FS3-Pro.

I suspect the FS2-Lite is all that will fit in my own price range...and so the wait continues (ironing out software issues, I guess).

Now 4 months on since the last bump, and still now new :( . I'm guessing there have been some production/firmware problems - First Strike have been pretty quiet on this - anyone know anything?

Alternatively, has there been anything new to the market over the last 4 months that I've missed that might fit an FS2-like hole?
My own requirements are still the same: a decent meter at around the FS1 functionality and price-point (maybe a bit more) but with DiSEqC?

Oh! Now this looks interesting:

Price will be key though...

Indeed that does look interesting. Not as robust as the FS meters though. Will it be as fast to lock as the FS1. This is the only real reason I still use it. There are better reciever based meters out there, but there slow.

If anyone does get a snif of the price, can they post it.

A quick search of google also found a few copies already available in China, but without prices.

Looks like the initial price is going to be £239:

_http://cdtronix.com/signal-meters/SatHero-SH-500G-Digital-Satellite-Finder-Meter-with-

mmm...not cheap enough to be a definite "yes" from me without seeing a review, although it does tick my "meter wants" boxes.

Something about it does sniff a bit "cheapo" though, in the line of the SatLink meters I've been avoiding, but maybe that's a bit unfair considering the initial SatHero meter reviewed quite well. TBH I'm not so bothered by the GPS or the screen DVB-S preview, which is perhaps where quite a bit of the price comes in...

i just bought this meter _http//SatHero SH-200 Pocket Satellite Finder DVB-S2 MPEG4 which i think is the model below the 500 reason i went for it its meant to be made in japan?
It cost £139 delivered through ama-zon/cdtronix which for a person who uses it occasionally is about how much i would pay for one,if i get a chance to use it this weekend i will post back. I have got a dish to install
Is the fs1 such a good sat finder ??

Yes teh FS1 is a very good finder. Its lightning quick and locks almost instantly on the right transponder when found, even for a split second

Lexium is a copy of the FS1 meter, though it is copied on the old K series version of the meter plus it doesnt come with our own custom UK & Europe database and free updates for life when you purchase a meter from us ;-)

Great, glad you like!

They are very good value meters with alot of spec for the money, and very easy to update with your own custom plans via the excel spreadsheet.
